Who is it for?
- Remote workers: Individuals who work remotely for companies or clients outside of Portugal.
- Digital nomads: People who can work from anywhere and wish to settle in Portugal.
- Non-EU foreigners: The visa is intended for citizens of countries outside the European Union.
- People with stable income: Applicants must demonstrate sufficient monthly income to cover their expenses in Portugal.
- Individuals with tax residency outside Portugal: Proof is required that the applicant is not a tax resident in Portugal.
Key Requirements
- Minimum Monthly Income: €3,280, which must be proven through employment contracts, service agreements, or other relevant documentation.
- Proof of Funds: A bank statement demonstrating savings of at least €36,480.
- For Families: The financial threshold increases for applicants with dependents. For example, a spouse requires an additional €1,740 per month and €5,208 in savings.
- Valid Passport: Must be valid for at least six months beyond the intended stay.
- Accommodation: Proof of accommodation in Portugal, such as a rental agreement or property ownership certificate, is required.
- Health Insurance: Comprehensive health insurance covering the entire duration of the stay is mandatory.
- Criminal Record Certificate: A certificate of no criminal record from the applicant’s country of residence is required.
- Proof of Remote Employment: Documentation showing remote work or freelance activity for a non-Portuguese entity.
